Valley Artisans was started in 1989 by Ruth McKinsey after she attended a faux finishing school. Ruth has spent 25 years painting and decorating in the central valley of California creating beautiful finishes on walls and furniture. As times have changed, Valley Artisans has changed and grown with the design industry. Ruth is not only a faux finisher, but she is a fine artist, fashion accessory designer, general crafts person and author of several books. She loves new ideas and creating things to help non-profit organizations create revenue. She also loves teaching her crafts to others. She has taught many classes on faux finishing, abstract acrylic painting, creating custom wall paper and making handbags and accessories. She has created two videos which teach the art of handbag making without sewing a stitch. She has perfected this craft over the years and now has it available on DVD to teach others her techniques. Please go to the Web Store to purchase these DVDs.
She also makes amazing rose brooch/necklaces and hair accessories from ordinary paper coffee cups. When you purchase one, you will receive instructions to make them from your coffee cups. It is quite easy and will amaze all of your friends. Now, you can purchase the instructions only for a nominal charge. Go to the Web Store to purchase a rose or instructions.
Also check out Ruth's new publications. She has a cookbook for some awesome artisan breads, a new children's book, "What's Going on at Noah's Farm?" and her newest book "Tips and Tricks for VIPs," which is available in print and audio form.
